The Most Common instruments of the Acadian people were the fiddle, accordion and guitar. These instruments were used to bring people together with a popular form of song in their musical heritage the "Chansons Respondre" or Call and Repeat songs.

The French Canadians participated in a style of dance known as Clogging. Clogging is a type of dance that involves lively stepping and tapping of special shoes on a hard surface to the rhythm of the music being played. Much of this culture still resonates in Gardner Massachusetts and it is even home to a very popular Acadian Social Club.
